Southern Culture on the Skids were once invited to perform at a PETA rally/meeting in NYC. Rick and Mary from SCOTS say you would not believe the stuff those folks say behind closed doors. They could never figure out who thought to invite SCOTS since they close most every show with "8 Piece Box" during which they throw pieces of fried chicken from the stage into the audience and named an album off the title track, "Too Much Pork (for Just One Fork)".

Criminally underrated band - and one of the best times you'll ever have at a show.

bd - I've long been a lover of SCOTS - seen them a couple times up in Minneapolis in the '90s. What were PETA thinking! Most of their tunes are about eating up them critters. White trash is not really what comes to mind when I think PETA - more like bubble-headed beach blonde sorority girls and frat boys trying to get into their pants.
